After talking to several upholstery shops and getting quotes to re-do my front seats ranging from $1500-$2200, I decided to take a chance on some cheapo covers from Amazon. Obviously not real leather but initial quality is pretty good. Had to remove armrests but fitment is quite good. Color match is decent but not perfect. Overall a good value at ~$100.

Can you post the link? I found several but I want to make sure I purchase the same color/fit.
Thanks

How hard were they to install?

I cannot get the link to attach due to hyperlink restrictions, but these are basic coverado beige seat covers. Should come up on a rudimentary amazon search.

Install is very simple. Just slide over the original seats and buckle them into place. I removed the plastic side molding to tuck in the sides/front for a flush fit. After a few days of driving, no complaints. Don't slide around, no wrinkles, staying put. I'm curious about how long they will hold up but considering I only drive 3000 miles per year, should last long enough for me.

Thanks. These look like the seats:
Coverado Front Seat Covers 2 Pieces, Waterproof Nappa Leather Auto Seat Protectors, Universal Fit for Most Sedans SUV Pick-up Truck, Beige

5 months later.. How are they holding up?

Apologies for not replying sooner, I don't log on often. After 1.5 years, the seat covers still look identical to the original pics. Honestly, I am surprised given the price point, but cannot complain. No tearing of seams, no dye transfer from jeans/clothes, holding strong!

This seem like a great cost-effective option, but I don't think I can live without armrests because I'm so used to them in the truck. Any other options out there people have found specific to the GX470?

You can still retain the arm rests, I just decided not to use them. There are other vendors that sell arm rest replacement leather.

Thank you for posting these covers! Installed them over the weekend and made the cuts to reinstall (recovered) armrests today. Massive budget-friendly improvement on an interior very much showing 300k+ miles of wear.
They’re much more supple than ancient Lexus leather, so the seats don’t feel slick anymore.

Those look great! Are the “beige” option on Amazon?

Also - how did you redo the arm rests?

Thank you! 🙏

They look good with the ivory interior but definitely aren’t an exact match. They are the beige choice, but I bought on eBay.

For the armrests I bought the “ivory/beige” GX470 armrest covers from ‘KBH Motor’ on eBay, but I suspect a lot of the options out there are the same.

I noticed that prices seemed considerably higher for both items on Amazon, so you might search around a bit. I spent about ~$110 on eBay to do the seat covers and armrests.
