I just bought a '98 100 for my sons first car, 225K, branded title, no airbag deployed, quite good (but not perfect) front end repair, rest of car is very very clean except a few scratches, no rust, brand new tires, brakes, plugs and battery, is in very good for the age, picked it up for a song or he'd never get a 100 for a first car
. Champagne on tan.
Does the shift indicator in the center console have a light, or do you just read it off the dash? The D light on the dash is out, so that's on the list to repair.
Does anyone have an OEM roof rack they want to sell me? Not sure why it's gone.
The RR diff just blinks, I read some posts about diagnosing so that's on the list, but anyone have advice on what it the typical issue? Actuator, wiring?
There is a very light wine coming from the diff or tranny, VERY slight, but it's there - do I need to be worried or what should I look for??
I must say, with the stock Michelin tires and newer oem shocks it rides very smooth compared to my '03 with Duratracs and Bilstien HD shocks, amazingly tight for so many miles, my wife was blown away.
Bought Tundra 18's off CL for $100, going to paint Anthricite grey and get REVO's or Duratracs, hopefully sell the wheels and tires for a few hundy on CL.
Taking off running boards and getting front mud flaps
Changing all fluids to Amsoil
Going to wrap steering wheel with Wheelskins - anyone know if Tan or Brown is the better color??
Heater T's to be replaced
Timing belt needed in the next 30K
