I changed the thermostat and upper hoses the other day since it wasn't getting up to temp. After the change it worked great the first day, now I'm back to no heat. Completely drained the cooling system and re-filled, ran it till no bubbles came out then capped it. Still won't get up to temp. Did I miss something? Do I need to raise the front to burp the system? It's dark and I'm almost out of beer.
Second question, I met a guy that's got a few 60's like mine and he's planning to part out one with an Old Man Emu suspension. I'm running stock springs now but have a shot at this used OME setup. Is it worth the hassle to go used and if so, what's a ballpark value on a used OME suspension? I'm in the midwest so it comes stock with rust.
Thanks for any help,

Jim

When you say "up tp temp" are you referring to the needle on the gauge? or air out the dash
vents?
If the former, check your fan clutch. Might be spinning the fan at full speed all the time.
If the latter, you may need to change out your heater core and/or heater hoses. Also check
the rear heater.

I'm not getting heat out of the vent and the needle on the gauge is hardly moving. Maybe I'll throw something in front of the radiator for the drive tomorrow. Never thought of the fan clutch... thanks, I'll look at that too.

I raise the front end up so that the rad is higher then the heaterhose on the firewall, run BOTH fans on high, every so often rev the motor up, all with the cap off, top off as needed.

did you replace the upper t-stat gasket? and even if you did are you sure its in right. This happened to me 2x's on our 62, finaly got it, odd out of 20 t-stats on Cruisers I have done the 62 is the only one that gave me problems.

I would concider used OME stuff, full set(with shackles), maybe $300? the new Dakar line is out and make used OME stuff not worth as much IMOP
