Hello!

Long time no see, it's time to plan for a new LC.

I really like the look of this HZJ71;

From this site: Das Buschtaxi-Blog » HZJ71

Could someone please tell me if this is original HZJ71, and what it's equiped with from factory. Also, what are the wheels and wheels size?

Where can I find these (used) to buy, and from what years should I be looking.

Could anyone tell me about the comfort of these cars? Is it worse than the 90-series?

Last, is there any buyers guide for the HZJ71 you could direct me to?

Thanks in advance!!

If your asking about comfort buy a 80 series

The HZ in the model code means that it has a 1HZ engine.

Not very powerful engines, owners of other trucks with the 1HZ often put turbo kits on them, but then they are not as reliable as the factory turbo engines since they were not designed for a turbo.

The wheels look like maybe 16x8" black steel rims, available from a number of different companies with very similar design. Often referred to as Sunraysia style wheels, as I think they first produced that design, which has been copied by numerous other manufacturers.

Someone from another forum... said:
Sunraysia was a brand name from many years ago......Exclusive Tyres gained the right to use the name and had ROH making a unique wheel for them 'till about ten years ago. Eventually the minimum order that ROH would accept got too big (about a years worth of wheels, I understand), so Exclusive Tyres stopped having them made. There hasn't been a real "Sunraysia" since then

They are an awesome looking truck, I would love one, except I would prefer it with the V8 turbo diesel that the similar newer front styled 70 series trucks (76/78/79) have in Australia, but unfortunately they do not make the SWB version here.

If you are looking for comfort, I would look elsewhere. Maybe give one a try first, but I don't think it would compare in comfort to a 90 series, they are a very agricultural truck.

Comfort! Go for 200 series.:D

Yes even comfier,

70 and comfort should not be put in the same sentance, if you have to question comfort, then stick to the prados 90
If you want to ask about a truck that has tuff then 70 is the place to look:D

In Europe a good source would be:

The HZJ71/GRJ71 will be around 40000 Euros (with German registration papers) and the facelifted version you have fallen in love with was introduced in 2007, I think.

I dont know anything about the comfort level, but as far as I'm aware the vehicle has leaf springs in the rear and coil spring in the front.

Until now, the 71-series has been offered with the 1HZ diesel engine, but now you can get a gasoline version with 228 HP (probably very thirsty).

If you are lucky, you might find a used one here:

mobile.de – Gebrauchtwagen und neue Autos – Deutschlands größter Fahrzeugmarkt.

At the moment none is for sale.

Hello,

In fact the new front version was introduced in 2007.

Regarding comfort, do not expect much. As it has already been said, comfort and 70 Series should never be put in the same sentence.

The rough ride is part of the 70 Series experience, so to speak. And so is the slow but steady push of their diesel engines.

The gas/petrol model is not that thirsty, by the way. Not if you drive it like a Cruiser.

Off-topic questions: does the VDJ71 exist? Or is it a mythical beast of sorts?

Just my two cents.

I wish it did, that would be my dream truck, but I have never seen one.

They are a myth , until someone exports a wrecked vdj from Aus to land of the Toyota swb
