has anyone unloaded a Costco gun safe from the back without breaking the tailgate? Asking for a friend

You’re good. I did not travel like this, but the tailgate is pretty darn strong.

ive loaded and unloaded arcade cabinets (~300-400lbs) from the tailgate without issues. I do put moving blankets against it as to not scrape any of the paint.
