I know a couple of 80 owners on here got there heads done last year and I had some questions.

1) What did you have done
2) Where did you have it done
3) How much did you spend
4) Are you happy with it

Basically I am trying to come up with a budget for the 97 if I decide to pull the motor this year. I have almost every seal and gasket I would need but I have to factor machine work into the overall costs. Poor Moby is leaking all over the driveway and I've just about had all I can stand of it.

I had mine done in Columbia very happy with i think it was like 250 bucks to get a valve job. I have 1500 miles on it since. No issues. I'm in kc almost every week so I can take it for you if you decide to have it done.

Did you only get a valve job or did you get them tipped, head shaved, etc ? Oh, and I appreciate the offer, if I decide to pull the head I may very well take you up on that.

Heads were milled. Valve job, adjustment. oh, and pressure tested.

We use Nolan Machine Shop here in Kansas City. They do really nice work but are always super busy. The Just did a Datsun 240Z head for us and have the Heads to a Porsche 911 Twin Turbo for us right now.

Yeah, super cheap. I would see if they can clean the entire head better though.

I had to spend time cleaning up the intake and exhaust mating surfaces.
