Been trying to add a additional smart key for my 08 LC since I got it last sep. (only came with 1 key)
First thing I did is wipe out all the keys I don't have from the car using TIS.
Then I went ahead and got this part from toyotapartsdeal (which didn't work!)
Toyota Part No.: 89904-60770 TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSY
I tried to program it through TIS a bunch of times but no luck!
I went ahead and called them to return the part but they wanted me to go to my local dealership and have them diagnose the problem and send them a report...but I didn't feel like spending a couple hundred $s for nothing.
I called piercy toyota parts department in the bay area and asked them what was going on! They told me 89904-60770 was not for my year and it was for the newer years. They did give me the correct part # which is 89904-48100. The part color is black, which I like better than the silver one. I programmed it using TIS and everything works!
I'm not trying to bash toyotapartsdeal.com, I used them a lot for my LC100 and LC200 parts. Just wish they would take that thing back and refund me.
Anyways, if anyone around the bay area could use this part (89904-60770), I can sell it to you for a discounted rate and program it for you. Just want to make sure it works with your truck. (PM me if interested bay area CA only).
