I am going to look at a 95 corolla dx automatic tomorrow and would like to know any specific trouble areas to check. It has the 1.8L 4-cyl.

timing belt, has it been done?

check the compression. Great motors, but only if maintained

Bought it. Compression was 175 across all 4 cylinders, timing belt changed at 88k, a/c blows icicles, mechanic said buy it. It even had toyota red coolant. Only issues are a leaking rear wheel cylinder, shoes were about gone and the paint has seen better days. Being accustomed to no a/c in my LC, after experiencing the a/c during the test drive I was about ready to start throwing money at the guy.

I will fix the brakes, drain the pennzoil and loose the fram filter and it should be good to go. Now I can finally take the cruiser off the road and give it the tlc it needs.
