My black and decker cordless sawsall batery was never any good, and finally won't take a charge at all. I was removing the rear cross member on my 80 the other day and definatley needed the sawsall. I read somewhere that someone converted a 12V cordless gun to work off car battery, so I figured why not. Well, it worked - to a point. It sparked from the blade to the frame as if I was grounding out a live wire.

Any logic for this? Is there a bad wire in the saw?

If you are running the sawzaw off the battery that is wired to the vehicle your cutting on you are probably causing a short in the system.
