Copper Canyon interest for Aug. 8 or 9 departure?

We're heading back to Central America on that weekend. Departure will be from around El Paso, TX or Las Cruces, NM.

I don't have a lot of time and I know it's not the ideal time for the Copper Canyon but it's the only time I have available. I'm not interested in going it alone due to possible encounters with undesirables.

What time frame are you looking at passing through there...a week? Less?

Also...what route? Batopilas to Tubares/Choix or just hitting Creel and South on the pavement?

...never know...I'm kinda itching for Mexico....

No plans on the route. Probably under a week as we need to get to Guatemala by about Aug. 16.

Are you in Flagstaff? We'll be be passing through Flagstaff on our route south as well.
