I just bought this cruiser and low and behold I have a coolant leak already!!

It is coming from the small flywheel inspection plate right between engine and tranny, bottom. I am trying to track where it is actually coming from but I am not feeling real positive right now.

No coolant mix with oil so that is a plus. It is definitely coming from the back of the engine so I am trying to track it down.

Anyone had this before? Help ASAP!!

99, 104K miles. Recent timing belt, WP and thermostat from previous owner.

Only drips when shut off.

Maybe it is leaking from the front of the engine (thermostat housing, hose clamp ??) and flowing down the valley towards the back of the engine.

If the o-ring on the thermostat housing is bad coolant could be finding it's way under the plenum and down the back of the block.
Try pulling the plastic shroud off the top of the engine along with the intake tube etc. You should be able to peek under the plenum and see the thermo housing as well as the galley under the plenum.
