Reading over the prior owners Dealer Maintenance records I can across some wording for a repair that I don't understand.

"Due to coolant leak added coolant and ran pressure test, found coolant leaking from both coolant bypass brackets, behind engine firewall. Removed and replaced."

They charged $30 for each "Coolant Bypass Connectors" along with 3 hrs of time.

So what & where are these brackets/connectors. It doesn't sound like they are the Heater Tees & when I checked all the clamps on the Heater Tees (but one) are pointed down/away like the factory installs them.

There is Water bypass Joint Rear and Water bypass Joint Front & Water bypass Joint pipe. The joints have gasket that we've seen leak. But gasket is ~$10 ea, joint rear is ~$60. None of these are behind the engine firewall. That implies in the cabin.

If you have a Dealer work order your reading from. If it's a lexus it is in records. If it's Toyota you'll need to log on Toyota. But why not just call the Dealer that did the work or PO.

If in doubt just change the Tee's!

My bad... work was done at a independent shop. I'll try calling the repair shop & ask them.

I do have the Tee & Heater Hoses inbound.
