Realistically, when would you want to get started on this?

I would spring over with stock springs.

I would also pay the money up front for a new brake axle. They are really cheap.

Probably start on it this summer. I'd love to have it at the SCC this October. I sure don't need to break anything on the GunRunner at any wheeling trips between now and the SCC! I really need a covered place to drag all the parts and do the work. I just don't have the room here. With good planning, it could be mostly done, or at least rolling, in a couple of busy weekends.

A spring over would result in a higher COG than I'd like. I don't expect to take it on trails, just get it to a camping spot and set-up. I may just get a Hell Creek add-a-leaf with longer shackles. I'm not really worried about how smooth it rides down the road.

A new brake axle would be sweet. We'll just have to make a game-time decision based on funds.

Mods, can we give Lash his own trailer build thread? This is way too cool and entirely too much tech for chat.

Never really thought about the time line of creation of the Land Cruiser......so, if one uses the 1997 40th Anniversary Edition as a reference, what was the significance of the year 1957 for the LC?

My same question on FB earlier....

Sorry. It just mushroomed.

I'll start a new thread soon.

I have a great hard cover Land Cruiser history book. It has all the old history. It was done by a Japanese guy.

I recommend it.

Book, Land Cruiser

Saw a sweet 55 at my son's school today. Anybody know it? I've seen it parked at a service station a few years ago. Orange/ white, looks like it's been restored... really nice.

Here's a glimpse...

So I sold my painful Maui Jims and need a decent pair of sunglasses.

Hoping to keep it under $100, polarized, and light weight.

What are the cool kids wearing?
