They have approximately 100 miles.

Ok. I need help.
I thought I had it all figured out, ......but

I am trying to install a carb fan into my 78 FJ40. I thought I had figured the place and the bolt holes where it should be mounted. Now I received my carb fan, the relays and some of the wiring harness and the bolt holes in the fan are not even close to match the one on the 40. Does anyone have one of these built in their 40 and could send me some pictures of the mounting of the fan? Especially interested in the area where it bolts to the louvered air intake. Maybe I have the wrong fan? my email is oshndoc@gmail.com. I will take some pictures of the parts I have and post them here in a little while. Wiring should not be too much of a problem. I have both relays and am going to use a switch to trigger it, as I don't have the thermostat. Thanks.

I have a 78 and can post up some on Monday.

Here are the pics of my parts. The second pic is the tag on the fan with part # and the last is a pic of both relays.

It looks like I have the wrong fan. This one is for a FJ60 ---- duh! Mystery solved. I now know why it does not fit.
Am selling it int he parts section. If someone needs this fan, I am offering it for REDUCED NOW $50 shipped. (Shipping is around $18 due to its size) Someone must need this?

Is the ATRAC in the new 4runners the same as 100 series? I have been looking at the new body style and 4wd are hard to find used. I didn't know if it was worth the extra effort and money to find a 4wd if they aren't very capable off road. It is not like I would take it on serious trails but may want the option down the road to take it to the crawl.
