When I purchased our used LX the great sales guy told us that it had a center cool box....not so much.

Is there a way to add it on without huge issues? Is the AC already in place to the box by chance?

I highly doubt it.

I think it would be very difficult to do, pretty sure you would have to replace the whole console area, but that's just my guess...

and who knows if the a/c piping is even ran that way....

So not worth it...just get an ARB fridge or something.

Console assy W/COOLING, black

MSRP Core ? Online Price
$2,764.59 $0.00 $1,994.47

is the main piece. And theres about 10 more items in the 100$ range that you need.

Would love to see some pics of your console w/o fridge. I'm considering hunting a 200 down w/o fridge because the ARB equivalent is far better and certainly cheaper. It's convenient to have front access but I would think the OEM cool box is meh in performance anyway. Anyone using there's and think it works really well?

have used mine on several road trips, works amazing.

I'm using the original console cooling box always, works excellent even in the Saudi heat. Comparing to an ARB (admittedly much larger) that is powered of the ancillary plug in the rear is just no match. The forced air cooled console box get's something reasonable cold within half an hour from a warm start.
Only drawback is that it requires the AC to be running, so even if you won't need it for the passenger compartment it is necessary to operate the cooler.
Retrofitting will be a pain, it requires a splice in the refrigerant pipes running to the dashboard evaporator.

You can add a cooler box (and rear a/c) to TLC's that dont come from the factory with them. However to buy the parts from the dealership will be VERY expensive. Not only will you have to replace the center console itself there are alot of pipes and a few holes you will need to make.

If you can search for a junk yard and find a donor car would be the only way I could recommend to make this conversion. Otherwise go with the ARB/IRONMAN/WAECO aftermarket ones and just install in the back as they can offer you more room.

Mine works amazingly well. I have put room temp drinks in it and they are plenty cool after a half hour to 45 minutes. The only negative I see is that the amount storage space is smaller than it would be for a non-cool box console ....

It's more like a fullblown mini-fridge than a coolbox since it gets drinks so cold. I thought it would be crap like the one in my 04 Range Rover from back in the day, but nope, the LC200 one is great.

Now, if only Toyota would allow us to lock the doors when leaving the car running it'd be all good....

Start 200.
Roll down window.
Open door.
Step out of 200.
Close door.
Reach in thru open window and lock doors.
Roll up window using "auto" up and get arm out out of window's way up.

Make sure you have your key so you can get back in.

Post of the year amir!!!!
Genius.

Edit. So this didnt work for me. My doors don't have a manual lock as they were disabled. My land cruiser is on in the garage and locked. Great.
