The FJ does not have enough room for kids and she will have visibility issues!

Get a Honda Element, lots of room, AWD, good mpg.:)

Keep your 60!

well i have two kids and niether has a problem with room. as far as being able to see that is easily corrected with spot mirrors and camera in the back. and honda element get the same mpg as fjc. know this for a fact cause freind has one now he wishs he got fj same mpg and about the same cost.

Besides, FJ= "Cool", Element = "Dork" :grinpimp:

The FJ does is not as roomy as an element. The FJ get 26mpg on the freeway? All the seats in the Element fold down to create a sleeping platform. You can put up a factory cabana over the rear gate, awning and factory curtains for privacy.

We have an Element. It is very capable on ice and snow. Great MPG!

And, yes it looks like a toaster and is dorky, but who cares it gets the job done. Pay more for an FJ that will soon be discontinued that gets crappy mpg! Oh boy, I know them fighting words!

Or, get the FJ for you and forget about the family!

If you want a toaster and good gas milage at least get the Ion XB. Its made by toyota.

I just came back from a camping trip in the Rubicon trail with my 2 children plus all the gear in the FJ, we had plenty of room for everything. Can you do that in a Element? Good luck!!

And plenty of room for all four to sleep? Good luck!

He has his 60 to go to Rubicon that has more room than any FJ or Element!

I really do appreciate all of the HONEST opinions which is what I wanted....we are test driving an FJ tomorrow so she will either love it or hate it. We will be bringing our son so we can test the car seat in it. I will weigh the options more when it comes time to actually making the final decision. I do love my 60, but I do not do any serious offroading with it other than once a year when we go hunting (not anything close to MOAB or RUBICON). I need a vehicle that will be used primarily as a DD and a fishing/hunting vehicle. Compared to my 60 the FJ gets much better gas mileage. I do not drive much as it is and we mostly drive the wife's Volvo S60.

I've had my FJ for 13 months and 50,000 miles we just came back from the Kokopelli trip which was preceded by Black bear pass and 21 road. On the Kokpelli there was a family of 5 and a family of 3 1/2. and we did 140 miles wheel, camp, wheel, camp, wheel, camp, and wheel. with everything you need for the entire trip. If you want to get the vehicle you will I'm positive that an element can't make it up to top of the world or down rose garden. love it or hate it I love mine. If you hate it stop hanfing in the FJ forum.

Aren't you a two car family? Get her what she wants, and you get what you want, and everybody's happy. Best to keep the marriage intact, and healthy.

Just my $.02

Michael
