Hi Ive been reading and I can't find a definitive on 2 questions on this conversion.
I want to leave the system intact and plug the lines at the shocks.

What is the exact screw and oring I need to plug at the hyd lines at the shocks?
I saw 3/8 somewhere but shouldn't be a metric screw? Any idea on exact fit?

I saw some people unplug AHC relay and some say unplug AHC under steering wheel.
I want the system to say off and not blink. Is there a best way to do it? No flashing lights or errors?

thanks a ton

Kurt at Criuser Outfitters supplied me with the appropriate plugs. I don't recall the size, but you could contact them for a definitive answer to that one.

I'm pretty sure that unplugging the system under the steering wheel is adequate by itself, but I was advised to also remove the relay under the hood, just to eliminate the possibility of power to the system. I can say definitively that doing both of these gave me no errors or flashing lights.

Thanks Ill be trying it in a week or so and Ill post up.

Hello. I have a 2002 LX470 with failed AHC. I just did the conversion and its great. I used the OEM kit form cruiserparts. But the front end seems to sit really low. I don't think it's my imagination. I turned the stock torsion bars. Do i need to buy the torsion bars for the Landcruiser? Would this raise my front end a bit and if so...can anyone point me to the part number for the stock land cruiser torsion bars? and if this would do the trick will raising it this way cause uneven wear on my front tires?

I also have a 99 with a failed AHC that i will be doing the conversion on in the coming weeks.

Thanks!

Yes, you definitely need to buy the Land Cruiser Torsion Bars! The AHC torsion bars are not the same!

thanks! would that raise my front end a bit? I was told that would cause my wheels to camber in and cause uneven wear on the outer edge of the tires. Is that dumb advice from someone?

LC torsion bars are greater in diameter (+13%) compared to AHC bars and this equates to about +60% increase in effective rate. So yes, installing the correctly rated torsion bars will let you normalize the suspension now you don't have the hydraulics to provide lift. Get an alignment check when you've set your final front height.

I posted some good info on the removal of ahc.

Hi everyone. I have done a comprehensive video on removing the AHC system and a step by stem replacement with OEM Land Cruiser springs and torsion bars as well as Bilstein shocks. I spend alot of time on the video and there is some really good information in there and what I did. hope it helps its a 2 part video with a final video of me driving around so you can kind of see how it rides.

Great work! Good video capture by the way. And that rust made the job tough I bet.

What did you do with all the "extra" plugs you now have unplugged under the cruiser? I left mine just hanging in the breeze. That was a year or so ago for me. No problems but is there a cleaner fix. I tried to order the dummy caps from Toyota, I spent hours at the part counter... No dice.

yea mine are hanging as well. I guess you could seal them up with some electrical tape to protect them. I'm not planing on ever switching back to AHC so im probably going to just cut the connectors off and leave it alone.

Some of the spots are so tight it would almost be impossible to wrap the plugs. So I just left mine hanging. Don care, you can't see them
