Hi Everyone

I just ordered a couple of Landcruiser Control Arm Strengthening Brackets from Pedders USA. Has anyone especially from OZ had any experience with this product or similar? For what i read on this and other forums there were a few Aussie 100s cracking their A-Arms due to heavy use. They cost $28 each. Any input?

I went to Pedders a year ago, they didn't have any, had a photocopy of some info, they didn't appear to help the problem to me, but it was a poor copy and the shop hadn't seen them so I don't really know.

I imagine that your ball-joints will fail LONG before the actual A-arms do ( ball-joints come with free A-arms attached BTW :frown: ) so I wouldnt really worry about adding those brackets. Besides, trust me.... after what my 100 has been through, If I haven`t split my A-arms yet there is NO WAY that you will ;)

Are the Pedder brackets similiar to the ARB ones?

Not the ones I saw, just a flat plate same shape as the mount. Not sure on the bolt arrengement or how the load was transferred, but possibly to the other side of the arm using bolts and another plate.

Jose,

For $28 bucks each, you might as well give them a try. Please post pictures when you get them installed.

I haven't heard of a single failure like this on US spec vehicles yet. I believe this happens mostly on diesel versions.

I'd also like to see some pictures and measurements of those Ironman shocks. Do you know the compressed and extended measurements?

we have seen alot of broken a arms, and we fit the arb units and stitch weld them to the arms, as well as upgrade the t bars and shocks with our bilstein premium units, because hitting the bump stops is what casues the a arm to crack through, not the t bar force on the holes, otherwise the other side would tear.

iron man shocks arent an answer for the 100, unless your shopping on price alone.

Never seen a broken V8 one, but we strengthen them anyway, all have been TD.
