Just had my mind blown by the dealership as I was trying to order all new bushings for my sway bar and end links etc; inquired about the control arm bushings and the total for just those was over $400.

Worth replacing the bushings or just buying new control arms??

Definitely buy the bushings and replace them yourself.

FYI: Toyota doesn't offer OEM rear control arm bushings for 100-Series (upper / lower). 80-Series, yes; however they are 18mm mounting bolts whereas 100-Series utilize 14mm diameter mount bolts/washers/nuts.

Inner control arm bushings are available from Toyota for the front upper control arms (and frame side front lower control arm).

I guess we should have asked, is this for the front or rear control arms?

If it's $400 for a set of rear control arm bushings, you may as well go with the Metal Tech replacement set for more strength. They offer the Metal Tech brand which is a bushing on one end and an adjustable Johnny Joint on the other end, or they make OPOR fixed length with bushings on both ends in 1.75 tubing, both of which increase strength.

Toyota parts was ready to order upper and lower, front and rear control arm bushings for me this afternoon for a tune of just over $425. No idea it was going to be that much so I'm glad I asked how much because he was ready to place the order. Told him to cancel those items and just go with sway arm bushings all around as well as sway bar end link bushings.

I'm clinking and clanking a bit up front still over rough terrain even after replacing all 4 OEM shocks so I'm eager to get this resolved. Trying to figure out which bushings to replace as well as why OEM end links aren't sold as one piece with bushings already in place has been a pain in the ass.

I just replaced my front sway bar bushings and end links last week. Tightened everything up nicely. OEM parts totaled just over $100 with shipping.

So that's just for the front?

i need both front and rear but having correct part numbers for the front at least is a huge help.

Correct, just the front. My rear sway bar bushings are further down the list as they didn't look too bad as of now.
