I currently have a 100 series, that 4.7 is crazy reliable!
I have been reading researching a lot on the new toyota
v8s some of them have been having cam tower leaks on the 5.7.
is this issue showing up on the 4.6s?
it is not a cheap or easy fix!.
Would really like to get into a 460 but am concerned that the 4.6 v8 is not going to be as trouble free as 4.7.

My wife and I both had 100 series LC's, her's at 285k miles when we traded it in for a Taco for her and my had 255, when I traded it in for my GX460. Never had an issue with my wife's LC, and aside from it starting to look tired, I'd take that cross country in a heartbeat, the same with mine! Although my LC did have a rear seal leak. Very minor and never need to add oil. Just a little low when I took it in for regular oil changes.

Now my GX only has 45k miles. So far it runs outstanding!!! We love it!!
All my trolling on the forum and the ClubLexus GX - 2nd Gen (2010-present) - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
forum since I've owned my rig, I've never heard anything about that.

How many miles are you seeing (or reading) that at?

Talked to my mechanic and he told me about the problem, started googling.
My mechanic said same thing I read on a tundra forum
When toyota was sealing up.engines using FIPG the surfaces were too smooth and it has been causing oil.leaks.

Plenty more if u want to Google
I was not sure if 4.6 was having an issue ?

have never heard of this on the GX platform...
heard of it a handful of times on the earlier model LC200's 2008-2012...

There are issues with the front timing cover and the valve covers leaking on the 4.6. Another issue, but this so far seems very rare is a coolant valley plate leak.
