hey all,
I am in the market to get another vehicle, and am considering getting a GX470. It would be an older model prolly a 05-11. So . MY hangup is it's hard to find one without Navigation, because I'd like to change the stereo to a head unit with android auto. Can the maps in the Navigation system be updated. Also have yall just left the stereo, and just use the bluetooth?

GX470s were only made from 2003 to 2009.

Get a 2008 or 2009.

I have 2003 and I added the BT-TOY45 adapter and I play music using my iPhone/spotify

Left factory Nav stereo and use an IPhone in a vent mount with charger/mini cable output dongle. No map updates for factory system. Planning on buying a GROM for android carplay, but not sure it’s worth it.

Land Cruisers are pigs. I have learned to appreciate the width of the GX, but do wish it was wider at times.

200 series Land cruisers are about 3" wider, 5" longer. They have a hell of a lot more power and way better/stronger suspension/steering components. Tailgate is infintely superior to the giant door. Plus all the sensitive bits are tucked up above the frame, unlike a GX... they can actually tow, the list goes on. Bigger? Sure a little bit... but I would't call it a pig compared to a GX. Both are pigs.

I have one with Nav, I have a phone mount, and a blue tooth cassette. Maybe I'm just not picky but that set up doesn't bother me at all.

LC200 will not fit on most trails here. It's simply too big. The 470/460 is within a inch or two of a 4-door Wrangler in most dimensions.

LC200 is 100% more stout and the size difference (IMO) is negligible. Cost on the other hand, that is a significant difference.

Agreed. It just LOOKS much bigger due to styling.

I've been seeing clean, high mileage 200s in the high $teens/low 20s. If they were that cheap a few years ago I 100% would not be driving a GX.

I traded in a Land Cruiser for my GX around 6 years ago. The LC always felt like a boat to me, gx fits me just right. YMMV

Memories…
