I have a '00 LX and I'm looking for a connector that will fit the connector of the standard wiring harness for the trailer. This is the connector that is located close to the spare tire.

Is it possible to purchase the mating connector from Toyota/Lexus? Does anyone have the part number?

I would like to make my own wiring harness without splicing wires. When I'm not using it, I can just undo the connector and take it off. The previous one corroded completely in no time (lots of salt on the road overhere).

Thanks.

Are you referring to the 6-pin connector in the rear right corner for the earlier LX's? (the later LX's have an 8pin in the rear left corner). At any rate, my hunch is one can only buy the entire trailer socket/wire unit and not the connector only.

They make all kinds of adapters for wiring connectors, auto stores, walmart all have some of them. I have a 7 down to a four adapter on mine. it's out there , just make sure you know what you have and what you need. good luck

No, I'm looking for the 4-pin connector that is located in the middle of the vehicle between the spare and the bumper. I think this was specific for the '00 models only. The '98-early '00 models and '01-later models are different. This connector comes out of the wiring harness, and is more or less hanging loose. It is connected to the trailer towing converter. It is labeled T-15 in the wiring diagrams.

I've been trying to find an aftermaket harness, but have been unsuccessful so far. I did find one labeled for '98-'00 models, but it didn't work for me. I have a later '00.

If I can't find the connector, I'll wire my own from the towing converter and roll up the cable in the jack quarter.

Not sure if this will help you or not, but when I went through this recently for a '99 TLC, I found a harness from REESE #15365. It is listed for the 98-99 LX and TLC. It plugs into the adapter on the rear passenger side, that on mine had a cover that I pried off. It is a 4 plug type connector for the trailer. If you need specifics let me know. Just noticed you are in Ontario. Check with Canadian Tire. They ordered it for me.

OK, I know what you're talking about now. The 98-99 LX's had a 6 pin connector w/ 5 wires that came out of the harness (LC's also have it). My 03 doesn't have this at all, so I unplugged the trailer harness, cut off the connector, and fabbed my own custom harness.

According to Reese's website this is for a '98-'99 LX/LC. Would it work for a '00 as well?
