cone washers

How do you take out the cone washers on the hub assembly, I am starting the SOA tonight and can't get the washers out.

Remove the nuts and,using a soft faced hammer,tap round the hub and the cone washers just pop out.When you re-install them use copper slip.Makes removal easier next time.

I found that tapping the end of the stud with a brass drift and a hammer pops them loose every time.

mine camew out only when I got out the big hammer and starting going crazy on them, but then again my truck has endured 20 years of salt spray!
