Looking for a little feedback on compression #s for a 2F /FJ60, a little over 100K.

Numbers from 1 thru 6 are: 135, 140, 140, 140, 140, 135.

Memory tells me the FSM calls for standard compression of 149 with a limit of 114, with no more than 14psi between the cylinders. What I'm looking for here is real opinions from those who would know.

As always, thanks.

What altitude are you performing the test at?

Near sea level, so little to no altitude. Thanks - forgot to mention that.

If it were my truck ... I'd be a happy camper as long as everything else was nominal. What is nice about your numbers is the flatness or only deviating by 5 psi. Plus the ends of the I-6 run hotter anyway ??? so having 135(5psi deviation) on 1 & 6 is normal ???

Just my thoughts,
Cahil

Wow, those are low. Mine are all above 600!

Those sound like good numbers to me. That is only a 4-5% difference from 135 to 140. My last compression test on my 2f with 130K is far worse.

Call it good!

You have another problem that led you to check compression?

With those numbers, I doubt that your engine will last more then a couple hundred thousand miles more. Better keep an eye on it...

Problems yes, but totally unrelated. Just trying to figure out what it all means before spending any more money!

It's funny you should post this today, I just finished doing a compression test on my truck and all of mine were between 132 and 140. I am also preety close to sea level, sounds like those numbers are OK.

Good times.

Guess I should consider that one a big ol' nod of approval. Almost feel silly for asking the question...nah.

Thanks to all.

Yeah. Just keep the oil fresh and keep it tuned. There are a number of guys posting here who have over 300K miles on the 2Fs. I am a piker - only 165,000 miles.
