Anybody know a source for composite fabrication supplies in the greater ABQ area? I can get polyester resin and catalyst and fiberglas mat and cloth at the body shop supply place. Locally I can't find gel coat, carbon fiber cloth, kevlar, epoxy resins in quart or larger quantities, mold release, etc. Right now I'm fabricating an onboard water tank and have most of the stuff I need, but I've run into this problem before. Epoxy, for instance, is heavy and expensive and shipping makes it like unobtanium. Anybody have a source locally?

is the body supply place the one on Singer? that is the only place I know of that may have it. maybe someone else has a better idea.
Look for a place that repairs boats.

Composite Tooling was going to be my suggestion as well. They're mostly a fabrication facility (radomes and composite covers for my work needs) but they might be helpful enough to tell you their source or sell you some of their supplies.

Just FYI, I talked to Dave at Composite Tooling and there doesn't appear to be any local supplier for other than fiberglas materials. So, I'm back to just sucking up the cost and ordering on the web from CA. It is what it is.

by "other than fiberglass" does that include gelcoat? Surely that's available locally? Just wondering since I need some.
just tuning in: I concur w/the boat supplier option. Plenty of RV/Boat dealers in the area -- Rocky Mtn has treated me right a number of times, no matter what hat I was wearing (USFS, private, SAR, etc)

Yeah, boat guys should have gelcoat. I was looking more for epoxy stuff, and mold release, peel ply, stuff like that, so didn't ask about gelcoat specifically. Hope you find what you need. And a warm place to work.
