So...I posted before about how my alternator died.

Long story short, I went through the agony of pulling the alternator and it was covered in gunk.

I dropped the alternator off to get rebuilt by a local shop and next was trying to figure out where the leak is coming from.

After cleaning the block and letting it sit I believe I have found the leak.

It looks like it's seeping from the front corner of the engine where the head meets the block.

Or it could be seeping over from the timing cover?

Have you guys seen this?

Man...I would hate to have to do a head gasket job just for this leak. I could only imagine the cost or labor involved.

i would expect the timing over to be way more likely and worth investigating more before concluding the head needs to be pulled.

Update!

I decided to go with a suggestion on here to swap over to 5W30 and that seems to have been the ticket.

^ Here's the leak I was seeing with the 0W20 oil. This is what it looked like after sitting a day or two.

^Here is the same area after cleaning it up and changing over to 5W30. It's been about 2 days since the oil change with some light driving around town.

I don't really know how\why this seemed to work, but here are my results after a oil change.

I also did a coolant fluid change to see if there was possibly some oil in the coolant (there was none) and I don't really know when it was last changed, so I just did it.

I'm going to keep an eye on the area and update this post if anything changes.
