So I've signed the papers to trade my '08 Landcruiser for a '13 Seq Platinum. Sad and excited (and a bit pissy that I have to wait 4-8 more weeks to take delivery because Red Rock is so dang rare).

Anyway, the cruiser was clearly overkill for the wheeling that I routinely find around home (we don't climb rocks up here, so everything else is cake). I've kept it this long because i am such a geek for over-engineered vehicles: every time I drove it, it put a smile on my face.

But long road trips with growing family, both in numbers and total height, are too frequently taking that smile right away. Hence, 4wd Toyota Luxury Bus (AKA Sequoia) to the rescue!

The point of my post:

My LC needed nothing aftermarket to protect it and make sure that it brought me home even when I did something stupid off-road.

I would appreciate your experience, research and sources for customizing this rare rig. My focus is suspension, sliders, skid plates and maybe a brake upgrade.

Thanks for feedback.

Go to Tundrasolutions, gonna have far more info since they share the same platform.

I bet you did well regarding the resale of your 200. My plan is to move up to one in another couple years.

Resale was great: bought it for $64k and after 75,000 miles, sold it for $40k.

I am watching Tundrasolutions, but traffic is pretty light there for 2nd gen Seq.

Will check Toytec, thanx for the info.

Nah, susp is the same as the Tundra. Gobs of info in the Tundra section.

The Seq has independent rear suspension and the Platinum uses adjustable air suspension. Might make incorporating a Tundra solution difficult.

Well if you are upgrading the front suspension you'll ditch the bags anyhow, so it's moot.

Good luck with IRS.

Bumpers and skids should be the same though right? post pics when you do something.

Can't find squat out there for skid plates or rock sliders! Ugh!
