Nice spot feature in an upcoming FourWheeler Mag on our SEAL Gen2 9.5rsi winch.

If I ever need another winch I'll be going with a Comeup.

Why are all of your 12.5 winches foot-forward mounting only?

Why are all of your 12.5 winches foot-forward mounting only?
In order for our professional higher capacity winches (DV-12 Light, DV-18, Seal 12.5 and 16.5) to meet the rating standard, they need to be mounted with the feet facing forward. This puts the mounting feet and hardware in a compression load which is a better condition than with the feet mounted downward. Unless your application requires meeting SAE-J706, mounting the winch with the feet downward does not change the maximum line pull or violate ComeUp warranty policies.

You can read more about this in the FAQ on our webpage.

Smaller winches can be mounted feet down without issue as well. For example @Box Rocket has our SEAL Gen2 9.5rs mounted in a custom cradle with feet down on his FZJ80.

reviving this. So will I need to clock the motor/clutch to mount a 12.5rs foot down in an ARB sahara bar?
