Selling my 98 LX, I’m the second owner, took it over at approx. 257k, has around 283k on it now. Overall solid condition, took care of many of the major issues (AHC) has a lot of new parts, but has some minor to moderate issues to address. First owner did almost all maintenance 100% at Lexus dealership. I have a stack of maintenance records to go with the truck. Maintenance and repairs I had done were a mix of Lexus dealership, and a Japanese auto repair shop. The AHC was fully replaced with LC suspension, I poached a Toyota dealer mechanic that used to work for Lexus to do the work on the side.

I tried to represent everything I could think of within the text and pictures. Given the suspension refresh and current market asking $5,200 <-- $5,300 <-- $5,400 <-- $5,500 <-- $6,000

Mechanical Good:

Newer parts (All Toyota or Lexus OEM):

- New tires Kumho - Crugen HT51 - P265/75R16 114T
-Timing Belt
-Water pump
-Front brakes
-Parking Brake replaced
-Small brake line repair
-Front Shocks
-Rear drive shaft
-Rear shocks
-Springs
-LC Sway bar with bushings and links/ link bushings/ bolts, nuts/cushion/retainer/collar
-Used LC Torsion bar from Cruiser Parts
-Rebuilt starter
-Alternator
-Battery ( 3.5 years old now )


Mechanical Bad:

-Rear rotors and brakes. I had replaced these initially, it was the one time I tried to go cheap and went with PowerStop rotors (Only non-OEM part on the truck and regretted it). Car has that stuttering vibration when under braking.

-Could probably use new control arms/bearings.

-Front passenger ABS sensor (ABS light flashing)

-AC isn’t pumping cold air. Had it charged a couple summers ago and was working, but the following summer wasn’t pumping cold air. Leak somewhere I assume.

-Exhaust leak, not garbage can loud, but starting to get that choppy lawnmower like sound on accelerating

-Hood mounts could probably be replaced; hood is a bit bouncy when driving





Body: Mixed bag, overall, I’d say it’s fair, paint is mostly solid, interior is holding up, not torn. I’ll list out the issues, I tried to take pics of everything in good lighting to show everything

-Big crack I the windshield, all the way across directly above the air vents
-Driver rear scrapes down the side from the first and last time I let my ex drive it ( yellow pole )
-Liftgate area around the passenger light is pushed in. Got tapped by a lifted truck in a drive thru.
-Some rust forming by the liftgate window
-Rust on the inside of the rear passenger door
-Undercarriage is an odd mix of rust, in some areas, but totally fine in other areas
-Paint has various scratches/blotches
-Interior carpets need cleaned
-Glovebox unaligned
-Liftgate handle rusted off
-Wheels have leprosy
