Howdy,

I’m in the holy land of Toyota parts for 3 weeks doing an FJ43 build (Bogota). I’m surrounded by a lot of late-model 40 and 70 series parts. Looking to fund part of my build. Does anyone need anything shipped back? Let’s talk.

Lots of OEM power steering parts for 40 series and of course 70 series anything.

How much will a power steering set-up for a 71 40? Just to see if I can afford it. Thanks.

yeppers IF @ all possible I need the door safety straps and associated hardware. I know theres aftermarket yet need OEM for a 1977 May FJ40 van.

so is that something you might be able to find/search for?
and of cousrse OEM seat coverss prefer gray or orange lastly black for front buckets and short jump seats.

Howdy- I haven’t a clue what the safety straps are, can you send me a photo? OEM seat covers are they same ones we get stateside or people get custom upholstery done. Likely it’ll be cheaper to get those stateside

A box would run ya about $500-700 a full shabang closer to $1500. There are a lot of available units but they aren’t bargains

You should definitely make it happen if you can. This place is rad. As for parts I think I jumped the gun a little bit. There is a lot of availability but prices are brutal.

Greatly appreciated!!! Totally fine if it’s a repro but I don’t think they make any reproductions for what I’m talking about. At a standstill right now with my rust repair project as the windshield frame is toast and some slimy human before me “repaired” it by brazing brass to repair it. Regardless windshield frame is a total loss and I need an entire new one, a pillars, upper and lower.

Like I said a long shot, not expecting anything. Just trying any possible route I can take! Thank you immensely for just asking around.

They do make 70 series parts. I will reach out to the fabricators tomorrow. What year and model is your 70? And someone should take away that PO's torch!

There are no direct bolt power steering for a 71. Besides the steering box, pump and hoses the pedestal complete need to be changed.

Are these new or used power steering boxes? As for the power steering the pump and hoses are different than the US models. These bolt to the top right side. The alternator is on the lower left where are air pump is.

If you can locate any heat shields for the power steering box I would in for a couple. The brackets that hold it to the steering box would be a bonus.

I would defer to you on this. Ended up scrapping the used parts plan- it’s a paaaain working with individual sellers and pricing is all over the place.

I can source repro heat shields that would be to factory spec from the same folks doing all the panel/tub work. If that’s something you’re interested in, let me know.

Believe more than just myself wound be interested in heat shields for LHD power steering boxes. I have one power steering box that it's MIA. Sure could sell a number of these depending on the cost. Think these could work on the mini truck and 85 4Runner steering boxes that believe the angle of the base is the biggest difference.
