Sometimes on cold starts my 60 wants to sputter and die if I really punch the accelerator (not that I punch the gas often, but I was testing it).

It will spring back to life once I let off the accelerator...

I am just wondering if it is because the engine is cold (doesn't do it when warmed up) or is this something I should be worried about? I am a 60 hypochondriac.

New fuel filter.

Would air in the fuel lines cause something like this?

Thanks.

Steve's right - enough with the punching. :D

If you're running it without a little choke, and you're expecting to get on it, I think it's fairly normal to expect a little hesitation like that. It's not like a FI system that compensates your air/fuel mixture, etc. You also don't have an automatic choke, either, so the a/f mix you're getting is set for a nice warm combustion chamber - consider it a static mix.

That being said - sometimes I miss FI.

Thanks guys. As long as it is somewhat normal, I am fine with it.

As I said, I noticed it did it once and punched it a few more times to see what the deal was. I don't normally do this.

I do use the choke on the first startup of the day.

Thanks.
