Ok, who all remembers the story on this one? This subject has come up in another group that wants to go out there for a trash cleanup, and I am just trying to reconstruct the facts. IIRC, about 5-10 years ago, the landowner (yes it is/was private property) went out and refurbished/remodeled the cabin/house out there, and actually was living in it for a while. Obviously, that didn't last too long, as it has always been abandoned every time I have been out there. Story was that the owner had put up wire gates and Keep Out signs on the trails where they crossed the property lines. I did actually find one of those signs while prowling around out there a few years ago. I'm sure that this was real popular with the Wheelers, as several trails intersect right at the Ovens, and there are no bypasses to connect them. I know it gets lots of traffic every weekend, and I have even seen guys drive their trail bikes inside the Ovens. Anyone know who owns it? John

That's how I remember it. A few years ago the land owner got pretty vocal, put the word out to stay off of their property.

The record of who the property owner is should be public, not sure how to search without a street address? Maybe the BLM would know?
