Ghanem,

I think you need the 6" in the front and the 10" in the rear if you try those shocks. Those Dynatrac shocks are fairly new to the marketplace and I don't have any feedback regarding quality, etc.

Are you thinking of getting the ones with reservoirs?

ya .. but Dynatrac have a very good Name in the diff Market .. i choose Dynatrac because they all ready have stud upper mount ..

dont you think its short to have 6 front with cranked T-barz and droped diff ??

Three things:

1. I would not try an 8-inch travel shock up front. The stock WHEEL travel is 7.5-inches so the shock travel is slightly less. I think the current travel is max if you want reliability. With an 8-inch you'll have to bump stops limiting it any how. CV angles? EEK!

2. 10-inches on the rear? WHEEL travel with the OME N74L is 15-inches. This is a step backward even from a 100-series shock.

3. The 100 and an 80 will never be fly through the air mobiles. TOO BIG AND HEAVY. :) I can't see how one could improve upon the N100/N74L combo on the 100?

John,

Specs for OME:

N100 and 133 - 11.42in/290mm Compressed - 17.32in/440mm Extended - 5.90in/150mm Travel
N101 and N101C - 14.17in/360mm Compressed- 24.02in/610mm Extended - 9.84in/250mm Travel

Specs for Dynatrac (Walker Evans Racing):

6" travel 12" compressed, 18" extended, 6" travel

10" travel 16" compressed, 26" extended, 10" travel

Numbers are very similar to OME and should be within usable specs. My only question is what size is the stem and lower eye mount? Would they truely be bolt-in.

These shocks are also adjustable ON the rig. Interesting stuff...

If the wheel travel is 7.5 .. i thunk i will go with 8 Travel in front and lowerd the bump stop by 1 inch ..

16-way adjustable with Reservoir – Easy, On-Vehicle Access.

Correct TJ Mounts (Stud upper mount) – NO Adapters Needed!

El 3Grab,

I believe that the specs that CalamariDog has provided for the rear Dynatrac shocks are almost exactly the same as the N74L that Shotts is running. You will definitely need bumpstop extensions for the rear to limit the shocks from bottoming out on the up-stroke. Check out this thread for some more information on shock length for the 100. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=63422&highlight=N74L

Anyone ever done any investiation as to what the 90's and 100's in the Paris-Dakkar rally run? I've looked very hard for info on these cruisers that have won their class several times and I have had no success. Could be potential for some "out of the box" ideas there.

ok .. the Dynatrac must be :
Bottom .. 19 mm ID in eye loop .. and 45mm width
Up .. top pin 17mm long ..

i will send an E-mail to Dynatrac .. asking for the specs ..

thanks guys

What John and I touched on earlier... Shocks with 8" of travel doesn't mean 8" of wheel travel. The OME shock has 5.9" of travel and provides 7.5" or more of wheel travel. I don't know the length of the stock shocks.

The shock you propose for the front end is 14" compressed while the OME shock is 11.42" compressed. The 2.58" difference is probably equivalent to about 3.5" of wheel travel. I don't think you want to lose 3.5" of up travel. The only way you could pull off that shock on stock arms is if you change the mounting points.
