We have been looking into the arrangements for our Christmas Party.
Four possibilities are:
- Elephant & Castle Pub at Delta Inn, Richmond.
-Rhino's Pub in Coquitlam
-Frankie G's Boilerhouse in New Westminster
-Firefighter's Hall in Burnaby.
The tentative date will be Friday, December 9, unless you would prefer Sat Dec 10, but we have to make our minds up very soon.
Today I visited the Elephant & Castle in Richmond and it looked pretty good. There is a pub on the main floor similar to the old Doc Marlin's we used to go to. There is an upper mezzanine area that looks over the pub. This mezzanine would hold our group and the club kitty would pay for the mezzanine. It has two pool tables and a couple of pinball type video machines. A bartender would be there in the mezzanine and you buy your own drinks. When its time to eat, we would go downstairs and they would cordon off a pub area for us. They could offer us three choices for dinner: turkey, Yorkshire stuffed with beef, or a vegitarian stir fry. They would all come with salad or soup, pumkin pie and coffee. We have not been told yet the prices of the meal, as we are still negotiating. After we eat, we can go back upstairs to the mezzanine for our raffle and any club announcements.
Could I please have some feedback on what you think of this? I don't have time to check out the other three locations, some of you who live in those areas could let me know.
