Not just dust, coal dust. If you run a rig without a windshield you look like your in black face by the end of the day.
Probably give you cancer, too. And yet, I never give it a second thought when its time to wheel.:hillbilly:

One of those camp sites has to be ok. The event starts on thursdays so it shouldn't be hard to get. Maybe by next year they will have some better camp sites as well. Someone with some pull should lobby for that.;)

Camping at Rausch

I've camped at Rausch and I'm not really a camper: I sleep in my 55. But I have had good experiences there. Getting there Thursday afternoon virtually assures you of choice spots and there are some real nice spots in the woods adjacent to the staging area- immediatly to your right as you come in the entrance road.

Dust- while it hasn't been a problem the times I've camped it certainly can be. Situated on the top of a hill a large dirt staging area can be damn dusty when the wind picks up. Frankly when I'm sleeping in the truck it ain't a problem. And when sitting around a campfire under the trees it ain't a problem either. If you're sitting in the staging area on a windy day with trucks running around it's gonna be dusty. Rausch camping is what it is- free camping. Those not wanting to spend money for improved facilities are glad to be able to camp free at Rausch. It ain't for everyone.

I'm planning to stay at Camp-Awhile anyway. It's not expensive, it's as close to Rausch as Echo Valley, has great clean showers and a swell pool, and is close to a good diner with good cheap fod and lots of it. The ALCA sponsored cookout after Saturday's wheeling will be at Rausch- Jeff has made those arrangements. Whatever, whereever- it's the pig run and that's always enjoyable!!!!! My two cents.
