1969 Toyota FJ40 Truggy aka the “Meanie”
Originally built by Profitt’s Cruisers, the rig has been updated and substantially modified by Redline Cruisers in Colorado Springs, CO.
Under the hood it has a Chevy 5.3 LS V8 engine with multi point fuel injection and an aluminum dual core radiator with twin electric cooling fans. It has a custom ECM programmed just for this rig and it starts instantly and runs perfectly at all elevations. New battery. It also has a new Turbo Hydro 400 automatic transmission mated to an Advanced Adaptors twin stick 4:1 transfer case. It has HD constant velocity drive shafts using Spicer U-joints attached to GM 1 ton axles. The T-case has a HD cross member and skid plate. The rig has a turbo style exhaust system and runs and sounds great. No oil leaks.

The 5.13 geared Dana 60 front axle was built new just over 1 year ago with all new bearings, seals, ring & pinion gears, disc brakes and HD axles. It has an ARB air locking differential and ARP high strength knuckle studs with Blue Flame high steers arms. It also has a HD diff cover and the passenger side spring mounting pad has been machined to allow the proper pinion angle when using leaf springs. It has Saginaw power steering with HD DOM steering links utilizing heim joints. The Redline custom front reverse shackle suspension uses HD rock-crawler type leaf springs for maximum flex while maintaining a stable ride on the pavement. It has Bilstein HD shocks up front.

The 5.13 geared GM 14 bolt rear axle was shaved and completely rebuilt 1 year ago with all new bearings, seals, ring & pinion gears, disc brakes and HD axles. It has a Detroit Locker differential. The rear suspension is a custom Redline 4 link setup using massive DOM links, heim joints and newly rebuilt SwayAway 2.0 nitrogen shocks with limiter straps. It has a Currie Off-Road anti-sway bar. The rear suspension also has a 2K suck-down winch with interior controls.

The body tub, bib, hood and fold down windshield are all in excellent condition with Fiero red paint. It has Redline DOM tube doors with canvas covers. It has a full rollcage with a Paul’s Custom Canvas modular top. The top can be completely removed or taken apart in stages so you can have a bikini top or partial to full coverage. This way you don’t worry about tearing the top when running the really radical trails.

It has Redline metal covered DOM tube fenders, front end/winch guard, sliders and rear tube fenders. It also has a Redline flip up spare tire carrier above the storage area that carries an IROK 37” spare tire & wheel. It has Big Eye high intensity headlights, rock lights on all 4 corners, parking lights, front & rear turn indicators and LED rear tail lights. All gauges and switches are illuminated and include an electronic speedometer, tranny temp, water temp, ammeter, oil pressure and fuel gauge.

It has a Warn 8274 winch up front loaded with high strength synthetic rope and has cab mounted winch controls. Inside it has Corbeu seats with 5 point harnesses, console, floor mounted shifter, Moab heater, and windshield wipers. It also has a constant duty rated onboard electric air compressor feeding a 2 gallon onboard air tank to operate the front locker and air up the tires. It has a 15 gallon fuel cell with new electric fuel pump, a 5 gallon jerry can mount and a high lift jack mount.

The rig runs on 42” IROK bias ply tires with 65% tread mounted on MRW steel bead locks utilizing balancing beads. It comes with 2 spare 42” IROK tires. One is near new with a professionally repaired sidewall puncture; the other spare is 40% tread and is mounted on a non-bead lock 8 hole steel wheel.

There really is nothing this rig needs. It routinely handles the toughest trails in Moab. It is ready to run the toughest trails but it is also street legal in Colorado with current Collector vehicle plates and a clear title. The suspension works great off road yet is stable on the highway at 65 mph. Feel free to talk with Justin at Redline or Woody from IH8MUD, they both know the rig well and have seen it wheel in Moab. Or call me, Randy, at three 0 three three one nine eight nine seven six. Asking $20,000 OBO
