All,
The insurance company has deemed my 2004 Toyota Landcruiser a total loss from hitting a deer. This vehicle was my dream car, had a great history (sat garaged in a second home owner's house for years), and was the perfect vehicle for my family. I'm looking to see if the ih8mud community thinks it would be worth buying back before letting it go to the insurance company.
I figure I'd get this out of the way and just make it known that the only way I would buy it back is if I could increase my overall payout from this from someone purchasing it to part/fix. I don't make near enough to afford a Landcruiser to begin with but am hoping that this gets me a little closer to finding a replacement. Apologies if anyone is offended.
Anyway, here are some details from the window sticker:
JTEHT05J942051062
2004/6156A Imperial Jade Mica/Tan
Optional Equipment:
AW 18u Aluminum Wheels w/P275/60R18 Tires
NV Navigation System Includes: DVD/CD Auto Changer, Inside Rear View EC Mirror, Premium JBL ETR/Cass/6 Disc In-Dash Changer w/7Speakers
RR Roof Rack & Running Board Package
GY Curtain and Side Airbags (1st and 2nd Row)
C7 Convenience Package Carpet/Cargo Mat Set, Wheel Locks (Alloy), Rear Wind Deflector, Cargo Net, First Aid Kit, Glass Breakage Sensor, Simulated Molded Dash by Acculaser
DH Drop Hitch w/Ball Mount Kit
I purchased this vehicle from Cracks and Racks, a local outfitter, who was selling it on consignment for a caretaker, who had received this vehicle as a gift from a second home owner. The vehicle at the time had around 33k miles. The first thing I did was drop it off at the local Toyota dealership and asked them to take care of anything that needed taking care of. This included the timing belt, fluid, and a new battery. I can provide documentation of this for those wanting proof of that for the engine. This vehicle has been a dream. It has made trips to the east coast with no issues and ultimately protected my family. Please let me know if you have any questions or anything you want to see. I didn't bother with interior photos because I have young kids but can get some if there's interest. I'm hoping to decide if I want to buy it back by 04/18/2022. Thank you for reading.
