Even though these Nissans are insanely ugly, they are immensely cool. good luck selling

Agreed...Ugly, but retro and cool which hopefully outweighs the former! I just couldn't pass this one up with all the options and such low mileage! Wow

Thanks for the feedback. I'll get some more details posted as soon as this rig lands and I get to drive her. Cheers

I have two Safaris, one for myself, a 91 5spd, and a 92 auto (which was suppose to be my parts rig) for the wife. <Lesson: never let the wife drive one or she will want one too. :bang:>

"Good power" on a naturally aspirated TD4.2 is not something I would list for people use to petro vehicle acceleration standards, especially at elevations found in Colorado. If I was the importer, I'd be asking someone like Dave at Japan4x4 to source me a used TD4.2T manifold and turbo. I am fine with my two NA but most people like to get a turbo on them with a min of 9 psi of boost.

Good luck with the sale. I always get offers from people on the street when I am in the US with our rigs. Even had one ex-service man chase me a block. Thought there was something wrong. He just wanted to know if I would sell my rig. Apparently he fell in love with them when he was overseas.

These are a very solid vehicle. On of my Dad's buddies who puts on a lot of highway miles imported a low mileage one several years ago. Last time I ran into him he had over 600,000 km on it. The only mechanical issue that he had was having to replace the water pump in his first 3 months of driving it.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback on this rig. I would agree that the turbo might be a good option for someone to add to this truck down the road. The only one I have driven myself was in Cali, so have not yet driven one at altitude, but that one was an auto as well so probably not a direct comparable. I was not too concerned with a lack of power, but not quite what the Toyota 12HT drives like either!

I would expect that this truck will make for a nice start to an expedition rig for some lucky chap, and the Turbo's and everything else will get added in due time!

Have worked with Dave a bit in the past, so will check in on that option when I have some time. Thanks for the referral.....Cheers

To answer the questions I have received via pm....

I would consider a reasonable offer before it lands, but not 15k as that is less than I'll have into this rig once its here and through the import/shipping process! I'm not trying to get rich here, just bring in some cool trucks for all of us to enjoy as my brother is in Japan for a few more years...

As to when it will be available to drive/sell, my guess is probably early-mid June at this point as the container has just left the port. Apparently there was a bit of delay due to the national holidays in Japan over the past few weeks....

And a few more pics of the rig to enjoy!!

Just a quick update on this rig....

Apparently the container shipping took quite a bit longer then expected, so this truck lands in LA on July 7th, then another week or so to clear customs!

If anyone is interested just drop me a line and we can chat about it. Cheers

This rig has arrived and it is cherry! Looks and smells like a new vehicle. I have a few pics to post here, but many more for folks that are interested. It appears to have had seat covers and carpet protection in place since new? Have yet to drive it since I was working on the HJ61, but will put new batteries in tomorrow and get her out on the road.

Will change all fluids, new batts, detail-although there wont be much to do there, and get her titled and registered here in Colorado this week. Then I'll report on any issues I might find and she is ready to go! Cheers

These rigs are not ugly at all...We used to have a white one exactly like this in the Philippines and it was awesome! My $$ is a little short for this, or else I would be all over it!!

Just want this truck to go to a good family before the snow flies! My wife would love to keep her over the winter as the truck is running perfect and the snow tires are in great shape, but we can't really afford this nice of a ride in addition to our other trucks!

I have a couple of standing offers through eBay, but would rather sell to a mudder if any are interested. That said I'm lowering the price to $18,500 and will pay for half the plane ticket to Durango as we are a bit out of the way when it comes to airfare!

You can see the full album on this truck as well as the others we currently have for sale on the website:

Let me know if this sweet ride is of interest to any of you? Thanks
