Lots of interesting discussion. The thing that makes me lean towards the Land Cruiser remaining is Toyota just, for 2019, redesigned the Avalon. It’s a dog with regard to sales and always has been. It’s the car for the person who wants a nice car but doesn’t want the pretentious of the Lexus nameplate or the “Toyota all of my life”, super loyal customer. It gives the brand a capstone car, the LC being the capstone SUV.
I see no reason they wouldn’t keep the LC here especially if it continues to sell well worldwide. I mean if they’re willing to rebadge an ES350 which is a Camry based car anyways to give us the Avalon, a car practically nobody asked for or wants surely they’ll keep the LC as something for many 4Runner and Taco drivers to aspire to owning. Epstein didn’t kill himself.
Just my $.02
