Just got a new-to-me clutch pedal box out of a 2004 HDJ79. It's got a weird spring system on the side of it.

Anyone seen this before? I'm trying to figure out the purpose of it.

Perhaps for non-boosted clutch set up? Looks adjustable too (for spring tension).

Dumb guess I know….

your right there FJ73Tex,,,,

its an assist, the way the pedal travels is kinda like an elipse, or oval. that spring initially compresses, then about 1/3rd the way through the stroke it un-compresses and assists, thats where the most tension is felt from the pressure plate.
