Yes, I searched. Just want to make sure i'm doing the right thing.

1986 FJ60 with h42 tranny, clutch 2-3 yrs old
So, driving home yesterday mourning after work and She was difficult to get into gear. Parked her and saw that the master cylinder reservoir was almost empty. I refilled and went inside and went to sleep (post call) went to work this mourning in my DD and now sitting here thinking the seals are blown on my master and I need to replace it.
If I have some time off tomorrow afternoon I will get under the dash and see if there is a giant pool of fluid.

So, I'm planning to do both master and slave.

Sound about right?

Anything else I should replace while i'm in there?

Thanks for the help

Patrick

Sounds good to me, seems anytime I replace one the other goes. I now replace both at the same time

If you don't know, there's a difference in the Clutch master/slave starting around ... 4/85 ... If you get your parts at a FNAPS, make sure they give you the right stuff, or you're gonna make the trip again.

FWIW, you can get aftermarket AISIN brand (Toyota OEM) at very reasonable prices.

Good luck.

clutch m/c--s/c

car parts discount: aisin master cylinder $36.25
aisin slave cylinder 24.25
I will be doing the same thing very soon.

Which one is leaking the master or the slave? I'm on my third master cylinder and I still have the original slave. 368,000 miles on that little guy and its still working perfectly.

Very strange

SO I got under the dhas and I couldn't find any brake fluid anywhere!!!!!!

I have no idea where the fluid went!!!! I didn't see anything leaking from the master.

Any areas of weakness that your know of?

thanks and I appreciate all the help.

Patrick

ps RAMZ thanks for car parts discounters. great price

look under your driver side floormat

Does it have vacuum assist?
If so, it might be flowing into the vacuum canister.

I had the same thing happen to me and it pooled up in the floor mat. Where is the best place to buy a slave and master cylinder?

Thanks I just ordered a master and slave.
