Good Evening and Happy Good Friday to All,

I am stumped. I've replaced both the master and slave clutch cylinders, but I've hit a snag trying to get fluid through the system. When I try to gravity bleed air out of the lines I'm not getting any movement of fluid in the master cylinder reservoir. The fluid just won't drain through the lines. I've tried blowing compressed air through the lines, and I've tried attaching clear vinyl tubing to the bleed valve and running the other end into a bottle of fresh fluid when I open the valve. No bubbles of air when I try to pump the clutch pedal. It will only draw fluid out of the bottle up and down several inches. Clearly I am doing something wrong. If anyone could enlighten me, I'd really appreciate the help.

Happy Easter to you and yours.

If the seals in the Master and the slave are good, you should NOT get fluid flow due to gravity.--Need to bleed this system just like the brake system

Thanks for the response. What is done differently in that process? Could you give a specific step by step?

The air in the hardline is creating a bubble wall preventing the fluid from flowing down by gravity. Pump the pedal to force the fluid through & keep the reservoir full.

Finally got it working. I ended up using a general purpose syringe to inject some fluid into the hard line and that made the difference in clearing most of the air out. Just gravity bled the rest of it. Thanks again for the help. Cheers.
