I have a 2006 100 series, when I take my foot off and then accelerate again there is a clunking from somewhere. It is hard to pin point the exact location.
Question is, there is black lash everywhere.
Front CV joints into hubs have backlash and play, Front diff, Rear diff and transfer box all have some back lash.

Any ideas what to start with?

And make sure your driveshaft is fully greased.

There’s at least 100 threads about going through this process of elimination and what we have all done.

Front diff bushings are a biggie.

Unfortunately this is an expensive and labor intensive process. I had slip in my driveshaft slip yokes (replaced propeller shafts) all diff bushings worn (replaced), front drive shafts have worn splines and slinging grease (installed new boot kits) Next sale from Serra Toyota will be front drive shafts and flanges. Ugh! $$$$$

Mongoose stated the first to be checked items. Very likely it's one of them.

Easy way to check front diff bushings:
Start the car in P, lay under the car and have someone shifting P to D to R... the diff would jump up and down accordingly. In my case by 1/2"...

Front diff bushes!!! Didn't even think about that. But makes perfect sense.
Will try that first.
Thank you all.
Theres 3. The center bushing is easy to install as parts (get them all) and then just buy the bushings in the arms for the other two fronts. An air hammer makes it a one hour job. Greasing the driveshaft and ujoints is maintenance that need to be done at every oil change. As long as those areas are not too worn, the grease takes up the lash and keeps the rotation smooth. Otherwise as mentioned, the other axle parts.
