Nantahala National Forest in NC is the only large rainforest one the east coast, about 6.5 hrs away. Might be a cool thing to incorporate in a trip.

I'd love to do the Rubicon but that's quite a haul out there and I'd want to take my time doing it since it will probably be a one time thing.
I've even thought about flying out and renting a sxs or a j#@p to do it.

Temperature at the town near windrock this past year, 1st week of April. My kids are on Spring break the 1st week of April, so we may do Windrock. I would think rain could be an issue but can't predict it all.

March 28thish to April 4th I'm planning to go to Windrock. No dates have been set but I usually do a surf fishing trip to Capelookout mid to late April/early May. What if we do a combined offroad trip next year with Star City?
