Our IT manager at work turned in his resignation yesterday to accept a new job. Thought I would cast a net here as well as other, more traditional recruiting places to see if anyone has any leads for a strong IT professional.

We are a relatively small company (20 employees) that provide data for s narrowly defined market. The IT Manager / IT Director has wide ranging duties that cover the gamut from maintaining our desktop PCs and network infrastructure to managing our third party data center and software developers to overseeing/managing our multi-million reinvestment in a new platform from which we will deliver our data services. This is an opportunity for someone to join a small, growing organization and make a big impact on the business (big fish in a small pond concept)

If you know someone that might be interested or a good fit, please send them my way. The need is immediate since the position will be empty on October 1.

Let me check with my boss ....

I worked a similar role when I was in college for a Telecom HW company - before I moved over into the HW Design team. I hope it pays well, because supporting an IT solution from WAN down to the PC level made me want to pull my hair out. Luckily, I had a lot more back in those days :D

Good on you for posting Sam! I'm only half joking about the frustration level, plus, I was supporting Win98 / NT back then, running on a Novell Network. God knows the technology has come a long way!

All this stuff comes back to me very soon ... and most of what you said Ramon went whizzing right over my head ...

I am the IT person's worst nightmare ... I can screw up an anvil with a feather. The software tester loves me though because noting is really fully tested until I get my hands on it :poof::eek:

Good luck with the search Sam. I can only imagine the stress level of that job. By the time I figure out all a program has to offer, it is obsolete. I started looking into the software involved for tuning auto computers, decided that some things are better left to those that were raised with it. :)

Ramon,

You're showing your age!

Sam, it sounds like you're casting a wide net. Your old IT manager was truly a jack of all trades, by the sound of it.

If this was a Linux/Unix position for storage, networking, and administration, I would be more interested. I HATE windows.

Jim-

If there is one thing that I have learned over the years it is that some of the best folks / employees can come from non-traditional searches so I always throw the net very wide.
