Hi all. Not sure if these two issues Im having are related or not.
Firstly, my battery was not charging yesterday, then it started to again. Brand new battery and alternator around 3 months ago. Belts all see to be okay and good tension.

Secondly there is a clicking sound periodically coming from behind the passenger air vent near the radio. Seems to get worse when the A/C or fan is on. Sometimes it sounds like a relay ticking other times not.

Would really appreciate some advice,
Cheers

Since I cannot locate your vehicle information; could you provide your vehicle information (year, engine, voltage type) so the members can more easily respond to your problem.

Thanks…
Sorry mate, its a 1997 1hz, with a single 4wd battery

Since I am fairly sure there is not much difference in the charging circuits between your ‘97 1HZ and my ‘93 PZ; I would start with the simple things such as loose, partially broken wires or dirty connections starting at the alternator and moving thru the wiring to the fuse box.

Definitely check your connections and grounds, first and foremost; that's a super-common cause for starting and charging issues. Pull 'em, clean 'em, rough-talk 'em and see where you get.

Noise behind the radio: maybe a loose blend door?
