clicking sound please help

I have a 1989 FJ62 with a slight coolant leak ( new radiator on order). When I press the gas pedal and in gear there is a clicking sound from under the hood. It stops as soon as I let off the gas pedal. Any ideas?

pinging, exhaust leak, motor mount. Can you provide any more information? it is intermittent, or continuous? Does the frequency change with the engine speed. can you tell where it's coming from?

it continues the entire time I am pressing the gas. It is coming form the passenger side under the hood. only happens when it is in gear. gets louder the faster i am going

So if the car is in gear and I am on the brake and I press the gas at the same time, there is no clicking only while driving does it click.

Also the noise never gets any faster, only louder the harder I press on the gas pedal.

If the noise doesn't get faster with engine speed, then that rules out exhaust leak and pretty much all of the accessories in the engine compartment. How frequent are the clicking noises (clicks per minute or second).
