hey folks, on the subject of future trail runs, do any of you guys know if the clear creek FSR at east Harrison now links up to the Scuzzy valley FSR on the fraser canyon side? I was up there yesterday and there has been some logging up higher than the hot springs and there is new road. I drove further up to look around and it now goes on for a couple of km at least. I lost interest and stopped at a deadfall. it didn't occur to me at the time it might connect up but I was wondering as I came out how they got the logs out of there because the lower part of the clear creek road is still fairly crappy. then I looked at the gov't website and it looks tantalizingly close to going right through. Look at map H116. It looks like the two road systems are only a few hundred feet apart. If it goes through this could make a great one day road trip http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dck/Lim/maps/rec_index.html.

According to Mike M, back a few years ago, it did link up, but only by a really hardcore trail. But now it does seem like it is a nicer road up past the hotsprings, which means there is a smooth logging road out to Scuzzy valley. However, I did drive further this past summer, and we came to a remmoved bridge that spanned a very deep/steep creek crossing, and trucks are highly unlikely to cross without building a 5-10metre bridge. But hey if there's will there's a way. Might have to do more scouting from both sides though.
Cheers,

oh ya,
I also ment to ask whether you ran into snow when you went up there yesturday, and how much?
thanks,
Deny

no snow. I got about 2km past the hot springs and I could not see any snow anywhere on the hills above me except small patches of that trace stuff.
