For Sale: 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40--Green. Less than 15k Miles on the rebuild. $24,800. Located in Austin, Texas. Cared for lovingly by Edwin and his crew at Land Cruiser Specialist

Background:
Engine Swap for a Chevy 350 Small Block CI and Fully rebuilt 700R4 Automatic transmission. 2.5" RS9000 Rancho lift and Steering stabilizer + 4 brand new KO2s. Drives like a dream--easily one of the nicest 40s I've ever driven.

History with me:
I bought the vehicle off a guy in Missouri who bought the vehicle for his wife (he collected antique trucks and wanted her to jog around in an automatic). She hated how "bumpy" it drove and sold it to me. He'd originally bought it from Worldwide Automotive (see screenshot) in Colorado. It had 11k on the rebuild when he bought it 2014.

Since owning the truck I've had the majority of the mechanical and drive-chain rebuilt, replaced or modified. My focus was to get the vehicle in A+ operating condition. The interior and body are in equally fantastic shape, but I never got around to changing out some small fun details (Nobs, switched, spray lining the floor, minor cosmetic things).

Features it came with:

2.5" RS9000 Rancho lift
Rancho Steering Stabilizer
Warn front locking hubs
Rear Detroit locker
Vintage 80s Stinger (wench compatible)
Rear tire carrier
Vintage spare
Vintage (working) CB radio and fire stick
Re-apulstered Roof
Small 10inch speaker and Aux head-unit
Vintage Pro-Comp wheels
10" LED light-bar
2 spotlights
20-gallon steel reinforced off-load fuel tank
Off-road seats
Power steering and disk brakes
Steel Rocksliders

Additions with less than 3k Miles:

Brand-new radiator, housing, thermostat and belts
Rebuilt Alternator
Brand-new Edlebrock Off-road Carb
Brand-new Distributor, cap, roster, plugs and wires
New header seals (on still leaks a bit, it's been sealed twice)
Fully rebuilt 700R4 transmission and serviced transfer case
differential serviced and flushed
Vintage rear jump-seats from a late 70s FJ40

Less than 1k Miles:

Brand-new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires
Brand-new battery
Brand-new mechanical AND electrical fuel pump, fuel lines, two filters and pressure regulator
4: 33"/12.5R15 BFGood KO2

Known Issues:

A: Three areas of paint defect (minor, see pics for details)
B: Roof in nearly flawless condition except for back passenger corner. Can easily be fixed with sanding and sealant
C: As mentioned, small oil drip from passenger header. It's been sealed both by me and my professional Land Cruiser Mechanic. Never drops enough to matter between oil changes.
D. New! But it happens sadly. Passenger side axel seal is leaking. This is very very common with these vehicles at this age (and must be redone every 5k+ miles). If you want this fixed professionally by my mechanic before you buy I'm happy to see if we can make that work. Still very drivable but should be addressed to prevent damage.
