Headed Back to REDLINE!!!

What: Colorado Land Cruisers Monthly Meeting

When: Tuesday, September 16th @ 7:00 pm

Where: Red Line Land Cruisers (click for map)

FYI: A few of us like to meetup before the meeting for an adult beverage and some BBQ at Rocky Mountain Brewery around 6:00 if anyone's interested in joining us.

I should be there...there is also a very slim chance the FJ40 will be there. Rewiring is going well...just depends on when I get the parts I ordered in and if the weather will be good. Its still going topless for the moment...and topless in Sept can be a cool ride home at night...

Next week!

Been a while since we've done any "official" business, should be interesting. :hillbilly:

One little piece of "New Business": Leon mentioned after our last meeting (with Bill from the CMTRA) that it might be a good idea to elect someone as our unofficial/official "Land Access / Volunteer Organizer / Grant Writer" guy. And even though I seem to remember him saying something about being super busy lately...

I nominate Leon. :grinpimp:

X2

Does that make it official?

Anyone want to take over the web page?

:poof:

Was supposed to work late but the floor lady screwed that up so I went to my kids soccer game instead. They are undefeated at 5-0 and won tonight 5-3. Zach had 2 goals. I wish I could be 2 places at once.

Missed you tonight Matt, but good to hear you guys got the win.

I'm sure Andrew will give up the full write up of the meeting, but just wanted to say welcome to our two newest official members:

Mr. Moose & SAS!

Ryan, I've got Brian's $$$ but can't find Tracy's $$$, I think he must have handed it to Andrew???

Anyway, welcome fellas!!!

Like Travis said, it's great to have Brian and Tracy in the club!

We talked about trail advocacy quite a bit during the meeting, as a follow-up to the presentation from Bill at CMTRA last month. A few ideas were brought up:
  • Selecting an official Club advocate, but no one at the meeting volunteered.
  • Organize a booth at local event(s).
  • Partner with other clubs of organizations to champion a particular cause
  • Try to use the media to highlight positive activities that the CLC does (tree run, cleanup, etc).
  • Post photos of above activities to media outlet facebook feeds
  • In the absence of a permanent advocate, select a cause and one person writes a form letter that club members can mail/email to politicians or organizations...Sort of a short-term volunteer.
Trip reports: Metburry, San Juans, Blanca, Red Cone.
